Homes by Taber breaks into top 100 home builder list

Oklahoma homebuilder ranks above the rest in the state on national reports. 

Oklahoma City, OK - In the homebuilding industry, there are national reports that help builders measure their growth amongst builders in their own states, as well as builders across the nation. As builders gain market share, they can climb the ranks on these industry charts. The national reports that builders around the country look at to measure their growth are the Housing Giants report from Professional Builder Magazine and The Top 100 report from Builder Magazine.   

Both reports with complete 2020 builder data were recently released and highlight Homes by Taber in the top 100 builders across the nation, setting new records for any Oklahoma builder in new home sales.  

Professional Builder magazine, a nationally recognized industry magazine, ranks the top 250 builders in the United States. With 704 closings in 2020, Homes by Taber set a company record and jumped from 125th place on the 2019 list to 90th place on the 2020 Housing Giants List, making it the top-ranked home builder in the Oklahoma market for the second year in a row and the only Oklahoma homebuilder listed in the top 100 builders report. Since 2016, Homes by Taber has moved from the 217th spot to the 90th spot in 2020. There are not any other home builders in Oklahoma that are experiencing that same growth. 

Builder Magazine, also nationally recognized amongst building professionals, looks at the top 200 home builders across the United States and ranks them by the number of home closings. Homes by Taber proudly ranks in 84th place on their 2020 Builder 100 List, making it the top-ranked home builder in the Oklahoma market on this list as well. Being ranked on either list is a highly esteemed honor, but to rank on both lists is a tribute to the support Oklahoma homebuyers have shown to this local builder. 

Homes by Taber started in 2000 and have since built in more than 80 neighborhoods in Deer Creek, Oklahoma City, Edmond, Moore, Mustang, Norman, Piedmont and Yukon with plans to expand into the Tulsa market in early 2022. The company started with just three build projects in its first year and has reached a steady growing pace with almost 3,000 homes built in just the last five years.  

In 2020, there was not an industry that didn't face extreme challenges due to COVID-19, the massive winter storms, businesses deemed to be non-essential that were shut down, and of course the extra precautions to keep employees and customers safe while the world navigated through the pandemic. All of these factors caused major interruptions with supply chains and product availability, which affected homebuilders and their ability to serve customers.

Homes by Taber doesn’t expect their growth to slow down. With two new neighborhoods launching over the past week and many more in the pipeline, their growth is expected to continue, especially as they expand into the Tulsa, OK market.  

Joining the top 100 of both of these prestigious lists is the latest honor in an eventful year of awards for the growing home builder in 2021, who has maintained an A+ rating through the BBB and was also selected as the Top Builder by the 405 Magazine (previously won in 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020), is currently nominated for Best Builder for The Oklahoman’s Reader’s Choice Awards (previously won in 2017, 2018 & 2019), and The Oklahoman’s Top Workplaces Award (previously won in 2018, 2019, and 2020).
