You’re ready to start the journey to buying your next home, but there’s a catch—you need at least five bedrooms to make the space work for your family. After browsing resale listings and digging through new-construction builders, you learn that finding a five-bedroom floor plan isn’t as easy as you thought it would be. A lot of builders say they prioritize the needs of families of all shapes and sizes, but not many can actually live up to it—but luckily for you, that’s not the case with Homes by Taber.
Homes by Taber offers three expertly designed five-bedroom floor plans, all of which are featured in various communities throughout Oklahoma. Although options are required to convert these three- and four-bedroom homes into five bedrooms, we promise they’re well worth the extra space—both for your family now and for your resale value in the future.
The Hazel
The Hazel Bonus Room is a stunning, two-story floor plan that combines sought-after open living spaces with ample privacy and features you’ve come to expect from a Taber home. Upon entering the home from the welcoming front porch, you’ll pass the first bedroom, a staircase, closets for storage and an entry to the utility room. Next, you’ll find the grand family room—complete with impressive 10-foot ceilings, gas flip switch fireplace, dining area and a gourmet kitchen designed around an oversized island—all filled with natural light from energy-efficient windows.
The primary bedroom is just off the family room, complete with a spa-like primary bathroom and huge walk-in closet. Easy access to the utility room from the primary closet will make laundry day a breeze.
A three-car garage with an included in-ground storm shelter, a large back patio with a wood-burning outdoor fireplace, two more bedrooms and one full bathroom (with an option to enlarge the primary bedroom and two secondary bedrooms on the first floor) finish off the first floor. Homeowners can elect to add a fifth bedroom to the upstairs bonus room with a spacious closet. The bonus room already features a full bathroom, which transforms this space into a true functional retreat. With the optional fifth bedroom added, this Hazel Bonus Room plan comes in just under 3,000 square feet of stylish functionality.
The Cornerstone
One of the largest floor plans Homes by Taber offers, the Cornerstone Bonus Room can easily be optioned into a five-bedroom layout. Similar to the Hazel, it includes an open layout in the main space to encourage togetherness with loved ones—homeowners will be jumping to host holidays and other events in the breathtaking space. The impressive great room includes both a formal dining area and a breakfast nook to provide options for entertaining, a chef’s kitchen with a massive island and walk-in pantry, a focal-point fireplace and views of the outdoor living space.
Off the main living space are two secondary bedrooms, a study, one full bathroom and a large linen closet, tucked neatly through a hallway to offer privacy and separation. Opposite of these bedrooms is the primary suite, featuring a luxurious primary bathroom with a jetted tub, dual sinks and convenient split walk-in closet. Lastly, a three-car garage complete with the included storm shelter is the finishing touch of the main floor of the Cornerstone.
Upstairs, homeowners will be thrilled to not only have an additional full bathroom and a large bonus room, but also an option to add a fifth bedroom on the second story. So with this plan, you can have five bedrooms, with a study, and a bonus room to spread out in your space —the Cornerstone is the ideal choice for growing families or for those that are itching for more privacy and space while spending time at home.
The Poppey
Finally, and what some consider the ultimate option, is the Poppey Bonus Room, which is our largest floor plan that can be optioned into a five-bedroom (or more depending on the options) home and still have plenty of additional bonus areas. The first floor includes a primary suite with a separate tub and curbless walk-in shower, spacious walk-in closet and easy access to the laundry room. Two secondary bedrooms with a full bathroom between them, a study/flex room, and a half bathroom for guests are featured alongside the open, impressive living space, with a gourmet kitchen featuring built-in appliances and an oversized island with a stainless steel farm sink, breakfast nook and a formal dining room. For homeowners wanting more bedrooms on the first level, the existing study can be made into a fourth bedroom and the formal dining room transformed into a study.
The Poppey bonus room plan has a second floor that will provide not only an additional full bathroom and bedroom, but also a bonus room that can be used as a game room, playroom or whatever your family needs. There is an option to add an additional bedroom upstairs, making it complete with two bedrooms in the upstairs space.
As with every new-construction home, Homes by Taber offers personalization options that not only impact the style and appearance of your space, but the functionality as well. In addition to over $80,000 worth of upgrades that come standard, there’s a variety of add-ons to choose from (in addition to fifth bedrooms) based on the floor plan you’re eyeing. Extend the back patio, add a bench to the mudroom, coffer the living room ceilings, include an additional half-bathroom for guests, convert the formal dining room to a study—the possibilities are ample and all can be selected with the help of our online interactive floor plan feature.
Floor plans for any family
There are so many reasons why homeowners could benefit from a large, functional layout. We’ve spent the past year helping families search for additional space to accommodate changes to their daily lives, like the need to work or learn from home. But perhaps you’ve recently opened your home to others, and that’s why a new home is necessary. If an aging parent has moved in, two families have blended together through marriage, or another relative who needed to relocate after a career or school change, a five-bedroom floor plan is the perfect solution. While the open-concept living areas can help facilitate the start of a new chapter, the privacy and separation so many bedrooms provide offer spaces to retreat when needed.
No matter the reason you’re on the hunt for a five-bedroom floor plan, Homes by Taber understands the importance of not just finding a home that you love—but a home that meets every need you anticipate for your family.
Never sacrifice quality for quantity
Securing a five-bedroom home can be difficult, and finding one that won’t need thousands of dollars worth of upgrades or renovations is nearly impossible. When you buy a new-construction home from Homes by Taber, you can rest assured that your house will be Proudly Overbuilt to the highest standard of quality, safety and value in Oklahoma. No matter the square footage, not a single inch of your home will be overlooked.
We take great pride in being named Oklahoma’s Favorite Builder, which is why the Homes by Taber family is committed to creating communities that better the area and homes that better the lives of Oklahomans.
